-The process-

Final project | UX Curse | Netcraft Academy

As an online shopper, I always imagine how it is like to have an app that will combine all of my shipments into one feed, a way that I could monitor multiple tracks fast and easy.
Along with the UX Curse in Netcraft, I have been worked on various projects but in the final project, I wanted to work on an app that I personally excited about.

Goals

1. Quick and efficient package track

2. Easy to use the app

3. Real-time updates

Step 1: User research

80%.png

80% Of the subjects claimed that they were actively tracking their package

71%.png

71% Of the subjects indicated that they track more than one package

46%.png

46% Of the subjects claimed they received status notification in different platforms

The survey was written in google forms, published along with friends and online purchase groups on social media.

Following the survey and the users' interviews, I understood who is the target audience, their main pain, and if and how they deal with multiple shipping tracks.

This user research gains many valuable answers and had a huge effect on creating the personas.

Step 2: Personas

woman 9

"The packages are not always delivered on time and there is no control over when or where I will receive them"

"I want that the tracking status will come without any active follow-up"

Dana is a lack-time product manager. She likes to manage her time in advance. Dana wants to monitor all her online orders simultaneously and get a real-time push notification.

"Many times the tracking number doesn't work and it's so hard to find the original email"

"Lots of spam delivery statuses"

Maor is a CRM manager, He regularly purchases online and therefore receives a lot of shipping status notifications that are irrelevant. Maor wants a way to customize those notifications so he could track the relevant status updates.

Step 3: Main users scenarios

After user research and the conclusions of the personas, we came to three main flows that meet the goals we followed:

  1. The user completes his purchase on the retailers' app and asked to transfer the package details to the Shippies app for continuous tracking.

  2. The user can easily navigate between his shipment trackings using the sorting and filtering tools offered to him on the main page.

  3. The user receives live updates on his delivery and can decide updates frequency.

The solution

6up and wireframing

The main scenarios were wireframed into a prototype and tested amongst 3 subjects who gained the final app wireframes.

Scenario 1.

The user completes his purchase on the retailers' app and asked to transfer the package details to the Shippies app for continuous tracking.
